Everyone knew you as Big Rich, but to me you were just dad. Not all lessons are taught with words. Some are taught by example. I’ll never forget watching you fall in 87 from a simple game of catch to hours later saying our goodbye’s before a brain tumor removal surgery. The stroke and radiation took its toll on you physically, but the gentle and caring man that it made you mentally is what I truly cherish the most. Like grandpa always said, “I’d rather be lucky than good”...we were all so lucky to have you outlive that doctors prognostic for nearly 40 years. You taught me so much more than you ever realized. You made me a man. And goddammit I love you for that dad. I’ll miss you pappy. Thanks Dad.
