My handsome husband is off to India for 2 months til the end of September to an ashram, which I think is such a cool and massive act of self care that one could ever do for themselves (and ultimately for others). It takes a LOT of bravery to go deep into yourself, go to a faraway country for many weeks, live in very modest conditions and volunteer much of the day in extreme heat, cut into usual earnings, life connections and comforts. It’s these kind of big life moves that really shift and galvanize people on their path. 4am wake and 9pm bedtime with a lot of meditation and spiritual work mixed with many hours of various manual labor in kitchens, scrubbing bathrooms, working in yards, etc. This ain’t a cushy yoga retreat! He’s all for it and I love having a partner who lives his life for himself AND to be of service and the best he can be for others all around him.
