Rainbows in my bluebells🌷 My flower garden is only three years old. I began slowly with a bed of roses and a munstead lavender border. The next year a large patch of wild violets appeared miraculously under the fig tree and we planted drifts of narcissus and bluebells and pots of tulips. I also laboured for hours creating a secret garden with roses and tulips through a very cold June. A wisteria was planted at front of house and climbing eden roses beside the spa wall. This year I planted a shade garden filled with hellebores and cyclamens. I widened the borders in the secret garden with bearded iris, pink scabiosa, pale flowering salvia and plan to plant pastel zinnia seeds come the end of November. In October I’ll dig a bed for the dozens of dahlia tubers waiting in the dark. Each year I plant a bed of towering sweet peas and white foxgloves along the back fence, and tuck in sweet snapdragons, stocks and phlox around the huge urn in the secret garden. To welcome visitors, there are pots of citrus, hydrangeas and wild lavender at the front door.
