An exhibition of furniture pieces from Casa Malaparte opens tomorrow, September 14, at Gagosian, Park & 75, New York. Join us from 6 to 8pm for the opening reception. Constructed on an isolated promontory on the rugged eastern coast of Capri, Italy, Casa Malaparte is a unique exemplar of twentieth-century Italian architecture. The house has inspired generations of architects, designers, and artists. It was famously featured as a primary setting of the 1963 film “Le Mépris” (“Contempt”) by pioneering director Jean-Luc Godard, who passed away today at home in Rolle, Switzerland.
