An intimate conversation between two long-time friends. That’s how we can define this exchange between legendary Italian Sculptor, Designer, and Architect @gaetano.pesce with design Entrepreneur and Founder of Moss [Design Gallery,] and Moss Bureau, @murray_moss. Despite the deep mutual admiration and the tenderness touched at some points, the level of this dialogue has often reached what can easily be called a philosophical peak. Talking about some of the most important achievements of the artist, from the 1996 retrospective at Centre Pompidou in Paris to some of his famous creations, such as the “Up Series” (originally launched in 1969,) the two friends reflected on what a creative person should do today and how the artistic approach has changed throughout the years, as well as the importance of being incoherent to really be true to yourself. Mr. Pesce and Mr. Moss allowed ODDA to capture this one-of-a-kind moment, getting inside their incredibly charming minds.
“So the scandal is a way to allow ideas to go through, right? The scandal touches the stomach and then goes up to the brain and the brain understands and displays what the content of the art is.” - Gaetano Pesce
“You've always said the elevator man could do your work. That what you designed, you've told me, is not the object. What you've designed is the entire process of giving life to that object. That is what the design is.” - Murray Moss
