Today marks the last day of National Adoption Week and the perfect time to share that we are, in fact, adopting 👨‍👨‍👦🙌🏼 We feel, as you can imagine, ALL the emotions. We have been going through the process for a long time now and although don’t have a child coming home to us just yet, are hopefully very close. It’s been a journey. A long, sometimes painful, sometimes joyous, sometimes stressful journey. Everything we read and learnt about adoption was true and then some. It’s taken longer than we thought, we have had to reveal more than we imagined and have had to have conversations we never thought we’d ever have. It is, to say the least, the hardest thing we’ve been through and even though not over yet, all worth it. We simply can not wait to bring a child home. A child we can call our own, that we can give a safe and loving home to, that we can nurture and care for. A child that won’t have had the best start in life. We feel incredibly proud of our adoption journey this far and can’t wait for what is to come. We have relied on some amazing people for brilliant and sound advice along the way, people we’ve met on Instagram and some we’ve met through the process and literally wouldn’t have got through it without them and our family. We’re very lucky. And because of this I think it’s really important that we share as much as we can to help anyone else thinking about or just starting the adoption journey, so please do feel free to message me whenever you want.
