He grew up in the O'Block neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago and became known for his storytelling style of drill rap, often depicting his life experiences and the struggles of street life. He was signed to Only the Family (OTF), the label founded by fellow Chicago rapper Lil Durk, who was also a close friend and collaborator. Some of his most popular songs include Crazy Story, Took Her to the O, and Grandson for President. Sadly, King Von’s career was cut short when he was shot and killed on November 6, 2020, in Atlanta, Georgia after an altercation outside a nightclub. Despite his short career, he left a big impact on the drill music scene.
