Join us in wishing The Fortune Society a very happy birthday! In November 1967, when David Rothenberg founded The Fortune Society after the dialogue and reaction to his Off-Broadway play, "Fortune and Men's Eyes," he could not have predicted that 55 years later our organization would still be a beacon of hope for people desperately in need of support, serving over 7,000 people annually. What began as a vision has transformed into one of the nation's leading criminal justice reform organizations with program models that are recognized both nationally and internationally for quality and innovation. In November 2002, Fortune again met a need of our community and opened our Drop-in Center, providing services for men and women infected with HIV/AIDS. We look forward to the next 55 years and continuing to inspire and impact a multitude of lives through advocacy, services and community.
