Wines to celebrate @youshallnotpassetoutgrain‘s birthday last weekend over a soulful, enlivening night of hospitality at @contentonyc: 🌔 Harvest-moon chinuri made for maize & mushrooms, from @iagos_winery in Kartli, the first grower we visited when I was in Georgia and the person from whom I learned that you know your qvevri is clean when a cupful of water from the bottom no longer tastes like clay; 🌺 ‘Sunday’s Child’ from @mimicasteel, the ’19 so distinct from the compact, sappy intensity of the ’18s, all aromatic lift and grace, beneath which life and carbon chaining exponentially in regenerating soils, the wine itself a (beautiful) red herring for Mimi’s *real work... So glad to finally see @yannickbenjamin in his element alongside his whole team, and to experience a space made for taking care of people in so many different ways 💚
