Chapter One of “The American Manifest”–Charles Gaines’ first ever public art commission, presented by Governors Island Arts, Times Square Arts, and Creative time–is on display in Times Square through September 23. Dive into “Roots” with a free Public Art Talk & Tour every Thursday at 2pm in Times Square! This towering installation includes seven painted and preserved American Sweetgum trees, presented with their root systems intact and upside down to a surreal and dystopic effect.
Link in @tsquarts bio for more information on the tours, and stay tuned for more information on Chapter Two of “The American Manifest,” opening on Governors Island in October 2022.
