Today is Trans Day of Remembrance where we remember, mourn, honour and celebrate the trans people who we have lost. I never thought that this year I’d be mourning one of my own friends- Shay. Shay, as we all know was a shining light, a dear friend of so many and an icon in our community- every day they are sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known them. Earlier this year, a few of Shay’s lovely close friends and I went to visit the lavender fields they used to visit; it was such a special experience. Today I celebrate Shay in all their glory, I miss you mate, hope you’re enjoying the lavender fields where you are now💜❤️ Rest in power to all the beautiful trans people who we have tragically lost, may you all be at peace. To anyone attending vigils/community mourning events today- i’m thinking of you all. Sending strength, love and solidarity to all trans people worldwide and the trans community, my trans friends and siblings, today and always🏳️‍⚧️
