New York Fashion Week. Last night I went to a kickoff party at the Boom Boom Room at The Standard Hotel thrown by @merzaesthetics and @voguemagazine. I’ve never been to Fashion Week and the experience was quite interesting. My recap: I am old. Now I don’t say that in a whoa is me way. I say that in a I don’t need to drink to have fun and it’s okay if I leave at 10 and man all these people are beautiful way. To be young and fabulous in NYC and not have kids to get ready for school the next morning.... Remember those days? 😂 There is something empowering and actually relaxing as you mature. The anxiety of “do I look okay?” fades away. The pressure to find a partner or get asked out is gone. Instead you worry about traffic and dream about getting back into pajamas. The point is, “getting old” - it’s a privilege really. To celebrate your unique beauty and to be able to step back and just look around and enjoy the ride is something we actually fight hard to achieve. Confidence to just be.
