I was drifting out of control in the same water here where two days before they had someone with a tiger shark nippling on their kiteboard, thinking I’m never going to get the hang of this sport, or indeed manage to get to shore with all my body parts! That was here in Maui 10 years ago this month which marks the first time I was ever paid to do standup comedy and the time I spent every day for a month mostly out of control trying to learn to kiteboard. After many a mild disaster I figured both of them out, at least slightly, and I’m very glad I did. Two very different things but both are way too much fun and yesterday I got to do them both in 24 hours, in two of the best places in the world for either: The Hollywood Improv for comedy and then to Maui for some kiteboarding. Some days it all seems worth it but you can be sure there’s always something ready to bite you in the arse. 😀🦈🤬 (edit: I wrote this this am, went kiting this afternoon and a small tiger shark popped up next to me!) Maui yesterday meant jumping around this epic spot surrounded by turtles. The Hollywood Improv was part of Ireland Week in LA and was the first time in history the iconic venue had an all Irish born line up with the support of some epic Irish folks! 🙌🇮🇪
