rang in 8 months of sobriety at the klerb this morning 🏢🥳 it’s really good to be back! 🥰😬 grateful for all my cheerleaders who continue to support me 🙏 i love you! 🫶 coming to berlin, especially clubbing at bergies, was like my ~final boss level~ in sober ‘exposure therapy’. while partying in the capital of queer hedonism, there was never a moment where i had not been high throughout the last 5 years of coming here. it was healing to bring my mom around, showing her my old haunts with a sense of humility and humor. so it’s extra special that i got to celebrate this milestone inside the klerb, with some of my closest og friends, getting to see our dear friend @akua_b_ debut her set on the main floor 🥹 i’m feeling extra motivated to push on - it feels like if i can do this, the opportunities and achievements in sobriety are limitless 🦾 lastly, the sculptures of donatello’s david and giambologna’s mercury represent 2 ideals for me in recovery - overcoming with resilience, and setting healthy boundaries 🌱
