Here are two veggie-cutting tips that will save you time, energy— and in the case of onions, tears!
+ Evenly slice a handful of small tomatoes at once by placing them between two plastic lids. Keep one hand safely on top while lightly pressing the lids together to keep all the tomatoes in place while you slice horizontally. Depending on the size of the tomatoes you’ll be able to cut five or more at a time!
+ Efficiently chop an onion by pre-slicing sections before halving and dicing into fine pieces. Bonus: Keeping the onion intact for longer reduces the release of sulfoxides and enzymes, the compounds that create the gas that causes your eyes to burn and water.
