Kasama is 2! I remember when Kasama was just an idea. I remember holding my breath and crossing my fingers till the day we actually opened our doors. It didn’t feel real at the time. Now here we are two years later, in a place that has exceeded anything I could have ever imagined it to be. I was able to sit down for dinner last month with Genie and I told her, “it doesn’t feel like I’m having dinner at our restaurant, a restaurant that we own.” I’m not sure what it’s supposed to feel like to own a business. It doesn’t feel like it’s mine. I think that’s because it feels like it’s not just our place. It’s a collaborative effort of everyone who’s ever worked here and for everyone who’s ever dined here. We’re only here because of all those people, that’s why Kasama exists. I love this place. I love my job. I love working alongside people who care about giving to others.
