History in the Making. Did you know that 'Uncle' Nathan 'Nearest' Green was the enslaved African that taught Jack Daniels how to make Whiskey ? He is known as the father of Tennessee Whiskey as his filtration technique using local charcoaled wood, helped to make his Whiskey smoother tasting than most of the others of his time. This technique learnt from his ancestors, who would filter palm wine in West Africa, would be called The Lincoln County Process. A process that most Tennessee Whiskey distilleries use today. It a shame he never made rum, but if he did, I bet it would have been one of the best around The 2nd picture shows one of Nearest Green's sons sitting next to Jack Daniels. #UncleNearest #NathanGreen #Legacy #Whiskey #Tennessee #Distillery
