Thank you Reverend Valerie Spencer for this inspiration. Being queer can be complicated. I use to find myself wanting to express myself in all my queer glory but being afraid for my safety, wanting to meet the masc for masc gay men standards, even being told to tone it down in the workplace. Queer people spend most of their formative years trying to be palatable to cisgendered heterosexuals and a lot of queer people end up stuck in that mindset because that’s how society has conditioned us. The point is we don’t have to live like that queer people are a force to be reckoned with and we don’t need to live up to heteronormative standards anymore. Anyways, have a lovely Sunday and remember community is everything. 💋
