I am so incredibly humbled to received this picture of my Sicilian Grandmother on my Father’s side, Giuseppina LiMuli. I have only a few memories of her in my childhood and she has been my angel ever since. After she passed when I was very young, my Father couldn’t clear her belongings from the top floor of my childhood house for years. it was my favorite hangout, investigating the mystery that she was to me, plating with her belongings, digging through drawers, closets, the crawl space. When her items were finally moved to the basement, I then spent my playtime there, immersed in my imagination of my Grandmother who I felt an inexplicable affinity towards. As I apply for Italian dual citizenship, these records have once again touched my heart and my imagination.
