I’m truly exhausted! Exhausted from hearing about the negativity my friends receive, from the way women tear each other down (making fun of someone’s appearance truly saddens me to the core), and from industry vets who belittle others instead of supporting them. If you’ve mastered something over the years, that’s fantastic. But remember, not every post is for you, it’s for those who need new techniques and inspiration. I hear all the time in my classes how artists are scared to post their work for fear of criticism. Last week, I saw a post I didn’t agree with, and guess what I did? Nothing. Of course it is okay to disagree or not like something BUT we need to remember that behind every video or post is a real person with a passion and a real client. There’s a way to offer positive, constructive support. Listen, it’s already hard enough to put ourselves and our work out there for everyone to see. This is our career, our portfolio. So if you don’t like something or don’t agree, just keep scrolling. And yes, I know the negative comments help drive up the algorithm, but that doesn’t make it right! ✌️♥️ And I want to add that 90% of the negative comments I receive our from women who have a private profile and a bio that says “live, laugh, love and spread positivity” #haireducation #hairindustry #hairstylist
