🙋‍♀️I am often asked about using the float or stretch test to determine hair properties and selecting products based on hair your type. Typically I advise that these at home tests don’t work. Today, I want to introduce you to Lemma Labs, a woman-owned business that can finally answer such questions with certainty. They are changing the hair care game with a new lab testing service called hairID, which offers a comprehensive and scientific look at your hair. The process is easy and simple. They send you a hairID kit, which includes an at-home water hardness strip, scalp sebum test, and sample collection bag to collect ~20 of your hair strands. Looking at your hair with a combination of microscopy and surface tensiometry, they assess its average properties, including: thickness, porosity and the presence of damage. This sort of lab analysis is really the only true way to measure these properties. They then recommend compatible hair care products for you using their expert understanding of hair product formulations and taking into account your goals, preferences and budget. Your hairID report is uploaded to your own private portal page, which includes a summary of your hair properties and routine recommendations. They also provide several product recs for every category you use (ie. pre-shampoo, shampoo, conditioner and styling products). You can rate products they recommend, and they’ll regularly add new ones based on your feedback. Have you been looking for a service like this? Or have you tried testing your hair properties? @lemma_labs #hairdamage#haircareroutine#bleachedhair#hairscience#beautifulhair#longhair#hairproduct#hairblowdry#hairgoals#frizzfree#frizzyhair#hairvolume#hairproductsthatwork#hairtest
