For National Stress Awareness Day, we asked Carson Koehler to share her best advice for managing stress as an involved high school student in the equine industry. Howdy, everybody. I am Carson Koehler, and I am a Texas 4-H Equine ambassador. Being in high school, playing sports, and especially being an ambassador, means I deal with a lot of stress. And I know I’m not the only one! One thing that has helped me deal with my stress is taking time for myself. This could mean going out in the pasture and riding your horse, taking a walk, or even just sitting down and taking a deep breath. Taking time for yourself is so important. It gives you a chance to breathe and get your thoughts in order. Another thing that has helped me with stress is making a to-do list. Doing this makes it easier to look down and see everything that you need to do written down in front of you. This way, you are holding yourself accountable for the things that need to get done. I hope this helped you and makes juggling your schedule less stressful. Until next time. Bye! ~Carson Koehler #TexasYouthLivestockAndAgriculture #TYLA #TexasAgriculture #AgricultureEducation #StressAwareness #AgricultureIndustry #EquineIndustry
