Last week the French Senate voted to ban women in France from wearing hijab in sport. They’re saying it will prevent the spread of “radical Islam” and that “religious neutrality” is necessary on the pitch. Sports should be free of overt racism and misogyny. Yet millions of Muslims are being asked to choose between their sport and their religion.
