The surreal beams of light streaming through the lava tubes just off the coast of Lanai exemplify why I love diving so much. You will see beauty so mesmerizing that it is impossible to forget. Of course I have at times become so mesmerized that I forget that hey, I’m 70 feet underwater and I’m running out of air and it’s nice that the Garmin on my wrist gently vibrates to remind me that hey it might be time to come back up to reality on the surface.
