Last fall I worked on a #portrait series of a few Brooklyn's Black cigar lovers and aficionados. In the portraits and interviews, I am exploring the personal style and aesthetics of these cigar connoisseurs. For the portraits, instead of making the cigar lounge my backdrop, I erected 'studios' on the street. I was inspired by #OumarLy's portraiture where he would erect studios on the street and even have individuals hold up the backdrops with their hands.
