Cross Country is more than just a sport… it’s a lifestyle. You get up and run before the rest of the world is awake, get some breakfast, go to the gym, then go run again. It’s more than just winning races or titles it’s about how strong you are. How many times will you force yourself to get up and hurt no matter how sore you are. That can go for life as well, it teaches you no matter how tough things are if you truly want to you can overcome it, no matter how much it beats you down you can get back up. No matter the outcome you know that you are giving your all and that’s the best part about it. Knowing you’re growing as an individual mentally and physically, using Gods gift to glorify Him. It’s about more than just the finish line, it’s about the journey you take to get there, the strangers that turn into family, the way you teach yourself to push yourself harder than you ever thought you could, doing something most people don’t want to do because it is so hard. Don’t wish the finish line would come faster because once you’re there you realize how much you miss the race. Although my season did not end the way I wanted it to I know it’s all part of Gods plan and more will come. Just because you’re not the best Highschool cross country runner doesn’t mean you can’t be the best college cross country runner ;)
