Wishing I was in England today...I didn’t think I’d feel so affected by the Queen’s passing but when you come from an English family, respect and love for the Royals is usually ingrained...⁣ ⁣ I think for me, it’s been more about the stirring of many long ago memories of my Nana talking about the Queen as I was growing up, when I would spend many summers staying in my grandparents’ home...my grandfather proudly telling us about his RAF days, how they both loved getting the Queen’s congratulatory letter on their 50th wedding anniversary, my Dad always commenting on the Queen- he lived in Windsor for many years and my siblings and I were all born there...⁣ ⁣ Queen Elizabeth was I suppose a comfort to me, because she has always been there- a symbolic thread to my English heritage and the beautiful memories of my grandparents, and of my Dad who are all in heaven now 🤍⁣ ⁣ And how I miss my Nana, Grandpops, and most especially my Dad 🕊⁣ ⁣ May you Rest in Peace your majesty Queen Elizabeth...thank you for your service 🙏🏼🇬🇧⁣ ⁣ In a strange turn of events, David is actually in London while the funeral will be going on 🙃
