When life hands us the unexpected, we raise our heads and keep going. I've been gathering my thoughts about this season and reflecting on what's most important to me. This year has been so unpredictable. We stepped into the unknown and made moves that presented some incredible highs and painfully difficult lows. Navigating a season of change challenged me to grow in spaces of discomfort and uncertainty and motivated me to really think about my ultimate purpose. Seven national championship titles and six global medals means a lot to me, but there's still another race we've yet to win. This year I've been driven not just by my desire to win on the track, but by a mission to help push our sport, and our world to become more diverse and inclusive. I promise you I am not going to stop fighting for change. We have a long way to go, but I will continue to advocate for equality not only for the here and now, but also for the future. Sport has given me a spotlight that I know won't be here forever. So, while you're here, paying attention, I want to ask everyone to do your part in helping to create a more equal and accessible world. Let's be more accepting and tolerant of each other. Let's make it so that opportunity is not something that is dependent on background, skin color or ableist beliefs. Nothing is impossible. A driving force behind why I run has been to set an example for the next generation, to never give up on your dreams. No matter what you’ve been told, your dreams are valid.
