📍Montepulciano, Italy 🇮🇹 This quaint medieval town is located about two hours north of Rome and a hour from it’s popular neighboring city Florence. Montepulciano was founded in the sixth century & it’s population today is only about 14,000. This picturesque city is known for it’s red wine & breathtaking Tuscan countryside views! Literally a blast from the past, it’s clear that the Renaissance era played a role in architecture of this town; from it’s cobble stone streets, to it’s castle like structures and narrow alleyways fit for a horse and carriage lol. We were the only people of color I saw exploring this town but we did not feel uncomfortable nor uninvited. I’ve never heard about Montepulciano until the rental car associate suggested we check it out. It’s chill, calm vibe was just what we needed to finish up our Rome family trip!
