For artists and educators American Artist and Shani Peters, this process is also artistic in itself: teaching and making are deeply entwined. Currently, each stewards an artist-run alternative school. American is co-director of the School for Poetic Computation (SFPC), a school, residency, and research group in New York, and Shani is co-founder and co-director of The Black School, an alternative art school teaching radical Black history in New Orleans.
