This week we opened the Rosecrans Shelter, a new facility that will serve 150 San Diegans experiencing homelessness. A first of its kind in the region, the shelter offers on-site behavioral health services and 24-hour intakes, 7 days a week. During their stay, residents will have access to meals, showers, restrooms, laundry and storage for their belongings. The facility also offers mental health and addiction treatment assessments, communicable disease screenings, case management, housing navigation and connections to benefits like CalWORKS, CalFresh, and MediCal. The shelter is a partnership between the City, the @countyofsandiego and the @luckyduckfoundation and is operated by Alpha Project.
