Modern Day FRIDA Pt. 2 | 2025 if she was still here. Still raw. Still resilient….She painted pain in color and wore her identity as a crown. She was revolutionary. 💃 In Frame: @yohenny 📸 Photographer + concept: @graphicole Car: @chicanos_64ss thank you so much! @chicanos_carclub_rhodeisland Jewelry: ring from @saltydagger hat from @publicnotprivate BTS @insta360 necklace from @airandanchor Since last year, I’ve been so pulled to her, and I couldn’t figure out why. Then I delved into her background and more of her story and it clicked, she’s resonated on so many levels. For the longest time I wanted to recreate what she would be “today” and it all aligned. A few fun facts about her: 🌹 She survived a near-fatal bus crash at 18, which changed her life and pushed her deeper into painting. 🌺 She was never formally trained in painting — completely self-taught. 🌼 She turned her pain into art — many of her paintings reflect physical and emotional suffering. 🥀 Frida often wore Tehuana dresses to celebrate her Mexican heritage — and to hide her physical disabilities. 🌺 She was the first 20th-century Mexican artist to be featured in the Louvre Made with @geekoto 36inch softbox gridded w/2 GT 200s and the @magnetmod sphere and 1/2 straw correction gel. Swipe for BTS + stay tuned for the second drop. @nikonusa z6ii and the halo 4 point star filter and @sigmaphoto 14-24. Grain was added in Post to give a more nostalgic feel to some of the images, other than that, all in camera. . . . #ArtMashup #Fridakhalo #ModernClassics #mexicanheritage #editorial #explorepage #visionary #fyp #creativephotography #pvd #mexicanart #chicanos #calivibes #ArteYCorazon #LatinxCreatives #famousartists #modernfrida #mexicanculture
