Proud of the whole @raverevolutionglobal family for bringing their piece to Burning Man. "Our art piece focuses on an uncomfortable truth, our economic system is driving us to extinction. Our struggle is against a racial, generational, ethnic, and economic bias that exists throughout the global North, including at Burning Man: Climate Privilege. A small percentage of primarily white people residing in the Global North engage in economic activities and consumerist lifestyles that are driving humanity to the edge, while the poorest, BIPOC, and Indigenous Peoples of the Global South are already suffering the worst. The wealthiest 1% are responsible for 15% of carbon emissions, almost twice as much as the poorest four billion, people, while the richest 10% release almost half of all the total carbon emissions globally. At the same time, however, the piece is constructed in a manner that encourages reflection and discussion. It is a space where burners of all backgrounds can assemble, talk to each other, and begin to address the unconscious biases of our culture.
