I can’t handle the PRESSURE of ANYONE putting me on a PEDESTAL of being “perfect” at anything or having the expectation that I will know always act perfectly at all times.... So I refuse to put that kind of pressure on anyone else on one either you know? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Cuz honestly... while I will get let down sometimes because I’m a HUMAN..... I will also let other people down, again because I’m a human. You feel me? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So truly... When I want to point the finger at 👇🏻 How a SIGNIFICANT other “SHOULD” act. How a FRIEND “SHOULD” act. How a MOM OR DAD “SHOULD” ACT. How a SISTER “SHOULD” act. How a MENTOR, entrepreneur, insert ANY role “SHOULD” act.... I point the finger back at myself and say... Let’s choose an alternative. We CHOOSE to ASSUME that ALL people are doing the BEST that they CAN with the tools that we have, and we give them a LITTLE extra grace..... & that SHOULD be enough. Cuz truly, the older I get, the more I realize every human here is learning in real time.... Including people that have more YEARS on the planet right? Why don’t we CHOOSE to instead LOOK for the GOOD people are doing? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Choose to LOOK for the ways your mom is showing up the best that she can. The ways your significant other is showing they CARE & understand you. The ways that you sister, aunt, etc. is doing the best she can navigating this all too. & most of all... can we also give OURSELVES some damn grace & look for the ways WE are doing are best too? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Cuz looking for the ways WE and people around us are dropping the ball... isn’t really working for US or THEM is it? Truly, we don’t know how many DAYS we have, or how many INTERACTIONS we will have with any one person.... So I say let’s do the best we can to make them count, VIRTUALLY or in person. You with me?
