After eight years of channeling old Miami charm in Sunset Harbour, a beloved South Beach seafood fixture has quietly served its final plate.
@stiltsvillefishbar officially closed on Sunday, Dec. 21, ending its eight-year run on Purdy Avenue after ownership was unable to reach a lease renewal agreement with its landlord.
Operated by @grovebaygroup in collaboration with @foodnetwork–famed chefs @chefmcinnis and @chefjaninebooth, the restaurant’s closure was framed as a real estate decision rather than a reflection of waning demand, with the group calling the concept a “special chapter” in its portfolio.
Opened in 2017, Stiltsville paid homage to Biscayne Bay’s historic stilt houses with a seafood-driven menu inspired by McInnis’s Florida Panhandle roots, earning loyal fans for dishes like coconut shrimp, conch fritters, and Buffalo-style fish wings.
While the loss leaves a noticeable gap in the Sunset Harbour dining scene, Grove Bay Hospitality Group signaled that new projects are already in the works, promising more to come from the team behind the neighborhood staple.
