When I work with skin especially ones that can be more challenging I like to switch up my needle selection as I work. I also find that I may need to change up the stroke hit so I'll switch machines. I prefer a softer hit when I start for the softer shaded effects (preferably around a 2.7-3mm stroke), but with the needle configurations I also like to incorporate into my work I find that I'll gravitate towards a 3.5mm stroke as well. I like having 2 machines running most times because I can create my "artwork" with more customization and details for my "hybrid shading".
