Ballad picks up a day after the doozy of Once Upon A Broken Heart’s ending, and it takes off RUNNING 🏃‍♀️ This book was legitimately fillllled with plot twists, I could hardly catch my breath. We finally get some insight into Jacks’ backstory (if you think you couldn’t love him more, think again). He is somehow at his most charming and most unhinged, and Evangeline is a perfect counterpart for this story. I legitimately YELLED at multiple points and had to put the book down to collect myself. This is an adrenaline shot in book form!!!! Stephanie Garber is at her best— it’s a truly captivating sequel and I cannot wait to see this series continue!
