A piece of history landed at Brown Field this morning! A WWII-era B29 bomber plane made a stop at the airport as part of a sneak preview for the Miramar Air Show. B-29 Doc has logged 102 flight hours during the 2022 tour season, which began in early April, with stops in 19 cities across 11 states. Brown Field, originally named East Field in honor of Army Major. Whitten J. East, opened in 1918 when the U.S. Army established an aerial gunnery and aerobatics school to relieve congestion at North Island.
