A Los Angeles restaurant manager who admonished gay actor Drew Droege and his date for kissing in public has been fired.
Droege and his date were at the El Compadre restaurant in the Echo Park neighborhood in LA Monday evening and had exchanged a few kisses when the manager told them such behavior wasn’t allowed. "We were confused at first, but then he very firmly stated, 'this is a family restaurant,'" Droege wrote on Instagram.
After days of backlash from the LGBTQ+ community in Los Angeles, including celebrities like Billy Eichner, Harvey Guillen, and Ben DeLaCreme, the restaurant announced that the manager had been fired. "In our home we believe in love and equality and the fact that one of our employees made someone feel unsafe is not acceptable to us." Click the link in our bio to learn more.
