Today we lost our first baby after 14 amazing years together. Lee and I were failed fosters early into living together in NY and the rest is history. I’ll never forget that Lee often made us eat brunch outside in the depths of winter storms so that we didn’t have to leave Edie home alone. Or that we survived camping upstate New York after hurricane Sandy, even though we ended up sleeping in the car because our tent blew away. Or that we drove from NY to Miami so that she could spend New Year’s Eve with us. Or the fact that an airline allowed her to wander around the cabin on our covid flight from NY to LA. I simply can’t fathom all of the adventures we were lucky enough to have with our girl. She was wild and intense and loved to swim and in the early days rode alongside Lee’s bike on the West side of Manhattan. She went from city girl to care taker of our boys, but always had an energy somewhere in between. Kind of like me. She was a constant reminder of the special life I had in New York, but as she got older here in LA she invited me to slow down in ways I also needed. So many seasons, so much love. Always and forever Edie Beale ❤️
