glow up check✨
i’m not talking about my skin —> i’m talking about my mental health glow up
when my skin cleared up my insecurity, depression, anxiety, & perfectionist tendencies did NOT go away with it.
I started to question myself: “Tay you should be happy your skin is clear now!”
but that didn’t work because mentally I was still struggling.
It wasn’t until I started focusing on becoming my own best friend & prioritizing my mental wellbeing that I finally started to feel better.
I started therapy 9 months ago and boy did that open up a can of worms that I was suppressing.
I learned that...
- I believed my self worth was dependent upon my physical appearance & achievements
- I believed that anything under perfection meant “not good enough”
- I believed that “happiness” was something that was achieved when everything was finally “perfect”
- I hated myself
- I found out I had severe depression
- I found out I had severe anxiety
but most importantly, I realized that I couldn’t do this alone & I needed help.
I have gone through a FULL TRANSFORMATION over the past year & am continuing to learn more and more about myself... I have never been so deep.
Prioritizing my mental health is the best thing I have ever done for myself.
