Been getting my ass kicked by covid last week..🤬🤮 but it did give me time to finally make a new vid for my little fledgling YouTube channel! “Carp on the fly” -link in bio- and despite the song I used here “Battle without honor” I don’t think there’s a form of fishing with more honor than flyfishing for carp.. it can be incredibly challenging and frustrating.. since carp are filter feeders you have to actually see the carp eat your fly (which they hardly ever do) and set the hook or it will just spit it right back out and you won’t feel a thing.. they spook real easy and as a bonus release a pheromone that tells all the other carp they should leave to! So if you can find carp in shallow clear water, who are actively feeding, cast your fly 2 inches from its cheek, with out spooking it, get real lucky with a fish actually willing to eat the fly, set the hook before it spits it out! Then finally control the unbridled powers of the northwest’s version of the bonefish!
