Finding balance in an unbalanced world. Taking time to connect with your internal world through meditation can be one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. Meditation does not have to be a formal practice where you sit cross legged and clear your mind of all thoughts. It can be as simple as taking 3 long breaths, going for walk with you dog, listening to music or working out. Mediation is fundamentally about bringing your focused attention into the present moment, even if it’s brief. A very simple technique I use with my clients who are just beginning a meditation practice is box breathing: - 4 second inhale through the nose. - 4 second hold - 4 second exhale through the mouth - 4 second hold Try this for 3 rounds and then observe how your body feels.
