7 years of putting human trafficking survivors first & changing the landscape around this pervasive issue. Thank you Not in my City and the army behind a Not So Silent Nite @nimcally @anotsosilentnite
Extraordinary things happen when you don’t say quiet like my new friend Paul Brandt @imalbertabound decided not to when he first understood the gravity that the sale of human beings pulls our communities down with. His invitation marks the beginning of a broader, international unification of charitable support- bringing together voices committed to survivors of human trafficking, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence- and the ways they intersect. Thank you Paul, for leading with humanity. @endviolenceeverywhere
When your new friend @mbarriem asks if you want to come to Calgary to support Not in My City- just say yes. When Paul’s manager texts you the day before while you’re on the plane asking if you want to share the worst day of your life with more strangers - say yes. Somehow your name magically appears in the printed program with less than 24 hours to go. Say yes. Yes to survivors, yes to healing, yes to vulnerability, yes to music, yes to trust, yes to humility, yes to grace, yes to the fortitude to facing evil and its demons all day every day.
Yes to stand with dear friends, wrapped in music, purpose, and community. Grateful for nights like these- where art, advocacy, and hope find the same stage. @tenilletownes #
