At least it seems like S understands the assignment when it comes to dressing for B's birthday party in season two, episode 10, "Bonfire of the Vanity." Serena arrives at Blair's very grown-up affair in this dress - dress? - from Emporio Armani's Spring 2007 collection. I use a question mark because on the runway, it was styled over shorts, so it might've been intended as a tunic — but when has that ever stopped S? It's a rather understated number in cream satin with a black beaded detailing under bust; it wraps up into the neckline in a way that creates a... rather curious cleavage situation. Was this the beginning of Vulture's infamous cleavage rhombus?! The rest of the look is streamlined with black opaque tights and a pair of black pumps. If only Serena's relationship with Aaron Rose — Cyrus's son!!! plot twist! — could be so simple. You know you love me!
