Happy Birthday to MHG award-winning photographer, Markus Klinko. Having started out as a signed and world-renowned solo harpist, Klinko had to re-calibrate his career after a hand injury and soon catapulted himself into the world of fashion photography. Maybe one of the greatest decisions as Klinko soon became one of the leading names in music and fashion photography, shaping the image of the 2000s icons. His work is nothing short of striking, his vision timeless, defining, and captivating.
After Iman and David Bowie gave Klinko a chance to photograph them for their respective book (I am Iman) and album covers (Heathen), he went on to create some of the most iconic album covers of his time, including Beyonce's Dangerously in Love, and Mariah Carey's The Emancipation of Mimi.
Klinko has a distinct touch that is both undeniable and impactful. Photographs he has taken of artists have moved fans across the world and in many cases became beacons of their fame.
Today we celebrate an artist who has utilized his struggles to become a household name in photography, and music with his clear vision.
