In many ways it can be argued that the U.S. never “defeated” the Axis in WW2 so much as absorbed them into our ranks, and thus our interest was less defeating an ideological and more entering an interimperialist struggle to maintain/establish global U.S. economic/political hegemony. #leftist #communism #ww2 #history #usa #politics
