✨ Client feature: Lauren ✨ When and why did you start Pilates? A: I started Pilates in April earlier this year as I was looking for a workout to complement my ballet training. I learnt that Pilates was crucial in helping many dancers to activate the correct muscles, find the right alignment and most importantly, dance injury-free for as long as they could. Thankfully, I found BE. Studios and haven’t looked back since! How has pilates changed your way of life? A: Firstly, Pilates has helped me to be more aware of my breath work, which I learnt from my instructor Estel, is crucial to executing the exercises on both the equipment and the mat. Previously, I often forgot to breathe when working out, as my mind was too focused on getting the movements right in each exercise. Since then I have learnt to be more calm at the ballet barre and the reformer. Secondly, Pilates has greatly helped me to activate the correct muscles that I never knew existed. Your favourite moments at BE. Studios! A: I honestly think there are too many to list. All the instructors are super friendly, warm and awesome at their individual crafts. The studio is so zen and beautiful, but if I had to pick one memory, it would be bonding with and getting to know my Pilates instructor, Estel during our private sessions. Besides the fact that each session is able to be tailored to each client based on their fitness needs and goals, I really appreciate that she and I are able to have quality conversations during our sessions. It was important for me to be able to trust the instructor with my fitness journey, and I was very lucky to have found BE. Studios and Estel. I’m looking forward to creating more Pilates memories at BE. Studios in time to come!
