Earlier this month, a small group us got together at Sandspit in Santa Barbara to celebrate our dear friend Misty who passed away a year ago 💔 Misty bravely battled cancer for years and never lost her immense, fiery love for life 💫🔥❤️ Even as one of her close friends, I had no idea how truly sick she was until her last few days. Misty hid it from all of us because she didn’t want anyone feeling sorry for her and she wanted to enjoy whatever time she had left on earth 🌍 Misty was a beautiful force of energy on this planet and spread love and light wherever she went. She had such a fun wild streak - it was honestly too much for me at times (which is saying lot since I have a wild streak too) 😅 But that crazy, amazing, loving, fiery energy is what made Misty so incredible 🙏🏼 She was always there for her friends, she never made you feel judged, and she loved life and was always up for having fun! 🎉 During our little memorial we shared some fun stories about Misty: I was in my late 20s and living in London so I came to Santa Barbara to visit my friends. One night I went out downtown with Misty and a couple other girlfriends. After the others went home, Misty and I proceeded to drink and dance the night away 💃🏼 💃🏼 At 2am we got late night pizza on State St 🍕 then hailed a cab home (this was before Uber 😅). Misty then decides she wants to go swimming in the ocean so she tells the cab driver to take us to the pier first to go skinny dipping 😂 The driver, who was probably in his late 30s, was scared and kept saying he had a girlfriend 😅Misty finally said look “Neither of us want to hook up with you, we just want to go skinny dipping and if you don’t go with us we will find another cab driver to take us home after and forget all about this but for the rest of your life you will think about the night you missed out skinny dipping in the ocean with two hot blondes and you’ll regret it forever!” You have NEVER seen a man get undressed faster and run to ocean!!! 🌊🤣 Misty reminded all of us to have fun and not to take life too seriously! If you’re reading this, this is your reminder, life is short, don’t forget to live it to the fullest! 🙌🏼
