Current Obsession: SELF LOVE⁣ ⁣ For the past 10 years I’ve been building, building, building. My company, my family, my home––everything around me. But now is the time to look inwards ...⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I am turning 40 in just a few weeks and lately, I have discovered the importance of SELF LOVE.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ In the last year, I slowly began working on my own self love, self care, and trying to understand what truly makes me happy. So with this week’s #ABObsessions post, I wanted to share a bit about my journey and what inspires me.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ For so many years, I worked so hard that I almost forgot myself along the way. On the surface, it may look simple to some, but to pour your heart and soul into something so big definitely has its ups and downs. If you are starting a company, or just have that “go go go” mentality, it’s so important that you never forget to check in with yourself often to make sure you’re doing okay.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It’s easy to get lost in the building, but to be able to build even higher, you also have to stop and reflect.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This past year, I have learned how to prioritize myself and my needs. I started therapy, and finally started taking my body seriously to give it good nutrition, movement, and strength. When you’re always “going,” you subconsciously subject yourself to so much stress. I had to learn how to slow down, say “no,” and stop feeling guilty for putting myself and my mental health first whenever I needed a day to myself.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It’s okay to not attend every event you get invited to. It’s okay to take time for self care. It’s okay if you’re not a “super mom” at all times. It’s okay to set boundaries, have anxiety, and feel scared sometimes. It’s okay to let go of friends that don’t bring you good energy anymore. It’s okay to choose happiness. And it’s OKAY to change. We all evolve and grow.
